GLEN E. FRIEDMAN
INTERVIEW
One of Skateboarder’s first star lensman, Glen E. Friedman captured some of
the most iconic images of the ’70s and ’80s. He went on to document the
early days of punk rock and hip-hop and their stars such as Black Flag,
Fugazi, Run-DMC, Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys to name a few. Recently,
while on a trip to Los Angeles, Glen got inspired to snap a few skate
flicks, which he hadn’t done in years. Check out what hes be doing lately
and learn some skate history.
INTO THE SOVIET RING
BELARUS AND THE UKRAINE
Finding untapped skate spots seems nearly impossible these days with the
extensive traveling that skaters have done all over the world in the past
decade, but they do still exist. You just gotta dig a little deeper to find
them. Louie Barletta, Chris Haslam, Nestor Judkins, Casey Rigney and Kenny
Reed headed deep into Eastern Europe and deep within the Soviet Ring, in
Belarus and the Ukraine, they found entire cities made of pristine marble
that have never been skated.
NEVER LEAVING VEGAS
ELEMENT IN SIN CITY
Besides gambling, Wayne Newton, and extra-marital sex, there arent many
other reasons to visit Las Vegas. Fortunately, Levi Brown, Chad Tim Tim,
Nick Garcia, Julian Davidson and Mike V. thought otherwise and decided to
try their luck at the plethora of new spots that have been discovered
recently in the city of sin.
