Q. Ok.. from Beer City to Illenium to Krooked to ALMOST….
Was it hard to decide what you wanted from a team?

A. Well I just wanted to be a part of a company that makes sense with the team. A team where traveling is fun and every one gets along and are friends. Then Rodney came along with Almost and it was everything I was looking for in a skate company…

Q. After turning pro for the now defunct Illenium, You became one of the best young Pro’s with no board sponsor. How many companies did you consider before you went with krooked? How many approached you?

A. Well, I guess you can say Tony hawk came with Birdhouse and Muska called me about Shortys and Gonz called about Krooked and Ed Templeton called about Toy Machine and Rodney called me about a new company he was starting and didn’t really have a name yet. I was down for something new. Skateboarding accepts new things and it needed something new, so I thought it was a good opportunity and went with it and ended up being the best thing that could have ever happened for me and skateboarding…

Q. How does an 18 year old kid tell the Gonz he’s quitting to ride for ALMOST?

A. Well, I guess you could say it just didn’t end up working out I didn’t know many people on the team and it wasn’t what I was looking for in a company I ride for that’s all…..

Q. The last RODNEY vs DAEWON video was great, and you are now part of an amazing team. How do you feel to be a part of a team like that?
It’s a great thing and every one gets along on the team and has fun on tours. We just skate and keep it real, that’s what makes skateboarding and Almost what it is…

Q. What does ALMOST have you doing these days?
I just love to travel, so I am always on the road and going places I never thought I would ever go. So that’s what has been going on lately. I just stayed the night at Bam’s house the other night that was pretty fun…

Q. You seem to do real well in contests. How do you overcome the nerves and the crowd and the pressure?
I just put on my head phones and get in my own zone and listen to the music I want to listen to and just skate and have fun. If I am having fun I will do better than I ever thought I would, and it usually works out

Q. At a contest, do you think about your line, the paycheck, that fact that your skating against Koston or McCrank or do you just chill and try to have fun?

A. I don’t skate because of money or fame and I don’t look at it like that. I just skate and have fun with my friends at the contest. Most of the time I like to go to the contest just to hang out with my friends and skate some new places I have never seen before.

Q. You seem to always have a smile and a good attitude. What changes that? What gets you bent or frustrated?
Well, I guess you could say people that are fake and trying to be something there not that doesn’t make any sense, so I just worry about what I’m doing and not to much gets to me. I mean I just love to skate and have nothing to really complain about. I get to travel and skate everyday and live a lifestyle and I wouldn’t do anything to take that away…..
