Mehring’s Bearings Presents: Singapore & Malaysia 2007 Part 1.
The following is a trip I did with Vans (at the time) riders Andrew Allen, Dylan Rieder, and Van Wastell RIP. It was kind of random and I hadn’t done much research before going. I figured Singapore was a big city and must have a lot of spots. Little did I know it was the rainy season. I made some calls and soon had our small 3 man crew and filmer Anthony Claravall along for the ride. Once we got there we realized this wouldn’t be so easy. It rained at 3pm on the dot every single day we were there. Luckily we were so jet lagged that we woke up around 6am each day so we just kept it going. We would be skating by 8 or 9 and by the time it started raining we would just play pool and drink beer at the hotel until it got dark and do it all over again the following day. Singapore was really tough to skate though. We got kicked out almost everywhere. Eventually Ant convinced us to go to Kuala Lumpur for a couple days to break the monotony. This ended up being the sickest part of the trip. We met a bunch of cool locals and skated some really unique spots. Not to mention the weather was better.

Dylan Rieder stalefish on a sundial near Kuala Lumpor. Claravall had been here 4 years before and somehow navigated us back through a maze of streets in some old park.
- We put a lot of time in at this bridge spot we found. It was pretty much the only place to skate in the rain. Andrew Allen – taildrop.
