Mehring’s Bearings: Trans Siberian Part 3 of 8.
This week we have the 3rd post from the “Four Horsemen of the Trans Siberian Railway” article with Kenny Reed, Keegan Sauder, Jack Sabback, and Van Wastell (R.I.P.). The photos are more or less in chronological order and divided up into sections of our trip that seemed like different chapters. To recap, part was Moscow, part 2 was Omsk and part 3 is Novosibirsk. Ie: the middle of absolutely nowhere, even by Russian standards. It is literally the center of Siberia. Not bad for skating though…

Van getting psyched. Each city we visited was about a 2 day train ride apart. We would skate for 3 days or so then get on the train for 2. Luckily most of the time they were pretty comfortable. Just beware the bathrooms.

Train tats. This was my first tattoo and if you saw the pics last week it was Kenny's as well. Keegan did them and he had never done stick and pokes before. He improved drastically from one night to the next. The level of intoxication may have had something to do with it too. The backwards R is English for Railway and Russian for "I". We all got one.

Van would only let me take portraits of him if he was looking totally ridiculous or totally over posed.
