Staff Pick: Vans Lindero Shoe

By: | Monday, July 16, 2012 //

It’s hard to go wrong with a pair of Vans. They look good, skate great, and fit and feel like a skate shoe should. They’ve been doing it since 1966, they know what they’re doing. A ways back, they sent me a pair of their new Lindero shoe to check out and review. It’s got everything you’d expect from Vans with a clean, classic, straightforward skate design with a few keyed-in updates to spice up their timeless look.

The Lindero’s are like most Vans and are good to skate right out of the box. They’re thin, comfortable and don’t take much breaking in. They feature a slightly narrower profile than an average pair of Vans and the toecap has stitch work that might remind you of a pair of Janoskis, though the Lindero’s don’t hug the arches of your feet quite as snugly as the Janoski’s do. The narrow toecap gives them great flick, the soles are thin and give you great board feel.

I’ve been skating the Lindero’s for a month and haven’t blown them out at any point. At $65 they won’t break your bank and with the colors offered, they got something for just about everyone. Overall, a great pair of skate shoes.

“the toecap has stitch work that might remind you of a pair of Janoskis” … or maybe they are instead reminiscent of the Sk8-Hi? Vans own shoe that the Janoski references with its toecap stitching?
